Andersonville

On the way to Roy's sister, Elisabeth's, wedding in Atlanta a few weeks ago, we ventured off of I-75 to go visit the Andersonville museum. We've wanted to go check it out ever since Roy's brother played a minor role in the Andersonville movie, but adding an extra couple of hours to an already lengthy trip was always a deterrent. However, now that we are home schooling, in the name of an "educational" field trip, we finally took the time to go. And, it was pretty entertaining, especially for two little boys who love to learn about battles and prisons, cannons and shackles. It's a little depressing, almost like visiting the site of a concentration camp. (For those who aren't aware, Andersonville was one of the locations where the South held Northern prisoners during the Civil War and treated them atrociously.) But, we had a good time, none-the-less.
