Mmmmmmah!

Kaitlyn has begun a little bed-time tradition, which is now a few weeks in the running. After we get her ready for bed and read her a book, we plop her in her crib. Immediately, she grabs the crib rails, like she's in jail, and says, "Mommy mmmah!" (Translation: "I want a kiss--through the crib rails!") So, I get down on my knees and plant a kiss on her face, through the rails. And, then she says, "Nanny (Aidan) mmmah!" "Totter (Cotter) mmmah!" So, I call the boys in to give her a kiss. They come running as fast as they can for this cherished event. They each give her a kiss. And then, Kaitlyn calls, "Daddy, mmmah!" So, Daddy gets called in, much to his delight, as well. After everyone has given their kisses, Kaitlyn contently gets settled in for her sleep. All is well in her world.

The boys love this little ritual, too, and they are at the point of tears if they miss out, due to being punished or somehow otherwise unavailable at the time. It's really cute. (Not the crying part, the affectionate towards their sister part.) :-)

I'm a little afraid of this tradition ending when we move her out of her crib, so I hope perhaps she'll be content in there until at least age 8 or 9.
