Citrus for Christmas!

Back in about 2003 we planted a baby navel orange tree in hopes that one day it will bear fruit for us. The first couple of years we got nothing. In 2007, we got a couple of sorry excuses for oranges. They had pulp, but it was really dry. Not even edible. Needless to say, it was quite a disappointment to cut into a nice, big orange and find no juice. Well, this year we watched nervously as the little orange tree began producing a multitude of oranges. Would they be edible?
The first orange we tried back a month or so ago was, yet again, a disappointment. But, we patiently waited until the tree was bulging with oranges before we began picking them. And, I'm proud to announce that they are actually quite good! (Okay, about 1 out of 4 is still a dud, but at least we have hope that the tree may one day give us a decent crop!) So, it was nice to pile up our Christmas oranges and enjoy them without having to go to the grocery store!
Now for that plum tree we planted back in 2003...it's plenty big, but where is the fruit?
